Background and History

Manikganj Government Technical School and College

Manikganj Government Technical School and College is a well-known and universally recognized educational institution in the field of technical education in Bangladesh. The institute is under the Technical and Madrasah Education Department of the Ministry of Education. In this era of globalization, various challenges are constantly coming. Therefore, the institution was established in 1984 at Shaheed Sarani Road, Manikganj in a very pleasant environment in order to provide timely teaching and training for the development of students' talent, as well as to develop smart citizens with technical and technical knowledge and enlightened people with skill in hand and pen.

The faculty in the institution are highly skilled. The institute is creating study and employment opportunities in the outside world every year. There are well-equipped computer labs, workshops, CCTV controlled classrooms and adequate equipment for hands-on training. Skill development programs, industrial training are arranged for the soft skill development of the students. Here every subject is taught by an experienced teacher of that subject. The institute has a total of 1400 students in two shifts and 30 teachers.

Directed learning:

1) Pre Vocational:- Sixth, Seventh, Eighth.

2) SSC (Vocational) Program (9th & 10th) There are 4 sections.

(1) Electrical Works
(2) Computer technology
(3) Refrigeration and air conditioning
(4) Welding and Fabrication.

3) HSC (Vocational) Program (11th & 12th) There are 4 sections.

(1) Electrical Works
(2) Computer technology
(3) Refrigeration and air conditioning
(4) Welding and Fabrication.

 4) HSC – BMT Program (XI & XII) – There are three sections.

(1) Computerize and accounting system
(2) E-Business
(3) Financial Practices

Besides, various skill development programs - “SEIP”, “ASSET” programs are running here.
